Baleines

Après un au revoir à nos charmants hôtes de Côté Cannelle, nous voila partis pour trouver le Bassin Maïs à la Ravine Saint-Gilles.

Le chemin est toujours fermé pour cause de travaux, mais nous décidons de contourner le mini obstacle. Le chemin est très sympa, tout en descente jusqu'à un point d'eau. L'endroit est ravissant. Est ce vraiment le bassin Maïs? si oui, alors il est vraiment tout petit, mais très joli. Si non, tant pis, on aura quand même fait une jolie petite balade.

After the goodbye to our lovely hosts at Côté Cannelle, we started to find the basin Maïs in the ravin Saint-Gilles. 

The way was still closed because of work, but we decided to get around the small barrier. The path was very nice, going down to a small water place, a very nice spot. It was really the basin Maïs? if yes, it is really small, but beautiful, if no, it doesn't matter, it was a really nice walk anyway. 

Ensuite direction le port de Saint-Gilles pour notre sortie en bateau à la recherche des baleines. A peine sortie du port, Martin apercoit la première baleine devant le bateau. Nous allons un peu plus loin et nous voila entourés de baleines. Le capitaine du bateau annonce "sur l'arrière 2 baleines, une mère et son petit, a gauche au moins 1 et sur l'avant du bateau au moins 2 baleines en vue.". On peut les apercevoir un peu, mais elles font les timides. Nous allons un peu plus loin et nous apercevons un groupe de 4 baleines, qui semblent nous dire bonjour de leur nageoires. Nous les observons assez un instant avant d'être dérangés par un petit bateau qui s'approche trop près et les fait partir. 

After we went on to the port of Saint-Gilles for our whale watching boat trip. Just after leaving the port, Martin saw the first whale in front of the boat. We went on and we were surrounded by whales. The captain of the boat announced "behind 2 whales, a mother with its cub, left at least one, and in front at least another 2". we could watch them a bit, but they were still a bit shy. We went a bit further and we saw a group of 4, which seems to say hello to us whith their flippers. We could observe them a while before they were disturbed by a small boat which arrived fast and went to close, so they disappeared.    

Notre capitaine décide donc d'aller plus loin et il s'arrête près de quelques autres bateaux qui observent les baleines. Et voila que 2 baleines sortent juste à côté du bateau, peut être à 2-3 mètres. Impressionnant. Encore mieux, voila qu'elles viennent droit sur nous. Et une d'elle passe sous le bateau, et vu que c'est un bateau fait pour l'observation sous-marine, il est doté d'un fond en verre, et la vue de cette baleine à bosse passant juste sous ce fond en verre est impressionnante, à couper le souffle, magique. 

Nous restons un certain temps à les observer, passer juste à côté, sous le bateau. Hallucinant. Nous sommes déjà venus plusieurs fois, et nous avons déjà observer des baleines, mais jamais d'aussi près et jamais autant en 1 sortie.

Our captain decided to go a bit further outside and he stopped close to some other boats which were observing the whales. Suddenly 2 whales appeared just beside the boat, just 2-3 meters away. Impressive. Even better, the swum direction our boat and the pass below our boat. As it was a boat also made for submarine observation with a glass floor, we could see that humpback whale in its entire size and beauty. breathtaking, impressive.

We stayed a while to observe them, again they appeared just beside and under the boat. Dazzling. We were here a few times already and we did some whale watching too, but they were never so close and so many.

Pour finir la sortie en beauté, nous apercevons au passage une tortue sous l'eau et un grand groupe de dauphins long bec: 2 heures 30 de magie ce matin.

Pour nous remettre de nos émotions et remettre nos estomacs en place (ca a un peu tangué sur le bateau), nous allons déjeuner au port; pour moi des camarons tout frais, un délice. :)

To finish the trip in beauty, we saw a turtle underwater and a big group of dolphins. Magic two and a half hours this morning.

To calm down and to put back the stomach at its place (it was a bit shaky on the boat) we eat lunch at the port, for me fresh shrimps, delicious.

 

Cet après-midi, après un arrêt au souffleur, direction mon village préféré: L'Entre-Deux.

Après une course rapide au supermarché, car nous avons malheureusement oublié le chargeur de l'appareil photo, nous nous rendons chez un habitant du village pour diner (P'tit Kalou). De nouveau: un délice, cari pintade. Une nouvelle bonne soirée. Que de gens sympathiques et que de bonnes rencontres.

In the afternoon we drove to my favorite village L'Entre-Deux, not without stopping at the souffleur (natural water blower). After a fast turn in the supermarket because we forgot the charger of the camera, we went to a resident of the village for dinner (P'tit Kalou). Again a delicious meal, cari guinea fowl, again a great evening meeting nice people.

Bon maintenant repos, car demain, on prévoit de faire une marche de 4-5 heures.
